God's Gentle, Guiding Hand

“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
(Corrie Ten Boom)

I had a new experience today. I was laid off of my job. I've never been fired or laid off before, so it's still a little surreal. If this had happened a year ago, I would have been devastated, both financially and emotionally. Today, by God's grace, it's not so bad.

In November of last year, we took a small leap of faith and I went from full-time employment to part-time. I went in to my boss's office to quit my job and had planned on doing something else part-time. I left that office being able to work part-time at my existing job, which was a very unusual circumstance. It was abundantly more than I would have asked or thought, but God orchestrated several other events prior to the time I gave my notice that made it possible.

I now see that He’s been preparing me for this leap of faith for months and has allowed me to take it in “baby steps” as I went from full-time to part-time and now to being laid off. What a LOVING God we serve! His timing is perfect! How can we fear the future when He is in control?

You know I have been through this and I had many days of doubt. Looking back it was God's awesome hand in the entire situation. He will provide!

It was so good to see your smiling face this morning. Your trust in the Lord is SO apparent, Sister, and will be a powerful testimony to the faithfulness of our God to be our Rock and Refuge. You and your family remain in my prayers, and I am EXCITED to see what the Lord will do in your lives!

Dearest Cousin and sister in Christ - (How that still blesses my heart!),

Your attitude is amazing in your current situation.

Mom once said to me that life is like a tapestry and we are looking at the bottom of the tapestry, but some day we will see it from the top - God's Design.

Sometimes He gives us glimpses of His design and glimpses of just how cared for we truly are.

I shall continue to pray for you all and that the Lord will guide each of you every step of the way according to His own will. =))

It reminds me of part of a song from the Gadsby Hymnal - "Let this blest assurance whatever betide, The Scriptures assure us the Lord will provide."

Love you!! (And like you, and appreciate you. =)) )
