Don't Put Off Until Tomorrow...

I ran across this quote the other day in J.C. Ryle's Expository Thoughts on Matthew.

One thief on the cross was saved, that none should despair; but only one, that none should presume.

I had never thought of it this way and I thought it was worthy of reflection. If you have been praying for someone's salvation, take heart! Even if the case seems hopeless, there's hope as long as there's breath. If you have been putting off getting right with God until "later," take heed! Don't presume you will have a tomorrow. Each day we are given is a gift. Don't put off until tomorrow what your conscience tells you to do today.
